Sushant Singh Rajput, who was born on 21st January 1986 in Patna to Krishna Kumar Singh and Usha Singh, Bihar. And his home village was Maldiha in Purnia district of Bihar. He had three elder sisters and He was the youngest in his family. one of the sisters (Mitu Singh) played at the state-level in cricket. One sister is settled in the US after marriage.  His father was a government servant. He's cousin Neeraj Kumar Singh is  BJP MLA  from Chhatapur constituency in Bihar.

He was also a National Olympiad Winner in Physics. He had cleared as many as eleven engineering entrance exams.

Sushant started his career from TV serial "Pavitra Rishta" and before that, he was a background dancer and also had performed in commonwealth game-opening as a background dancer with Ashwariya Rai Bacchan. Sushant had been praised for his acting skills in "M S Dhoni the untold story". The company operates on diversified verticals including content and communication, health and holistic wellness, education, and learning, and business incubation propelled by emerging technologies from the realms of augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.

Sushant Singh Rajput was from a decent family and very good in academics too. He was an entrepreneur and has shown his acting skills in films like "M S Dhoni"  and "Chichore" and got a chance to do different roles in sort 6 years of Bollywood career and become a big name of Bollywood. He had done suicide on 14th June 2020 at his home and leave whole India in shock. It shocking because he was successful and a very talented and actually intellectual person in Bollywood. (Not like some so-called intellectual actors and actresses present in Bollywood who suddenly start raising the particular issue as per instructed by pr team and they do not have any idea about it. When someone asked them, why they think it is wrong, they will give you an answer that because many people are saying so it will be right). He was very humble and anthropologist too. He had recently donated 1 crore to Kerala CM Fund for a flood that happened in Kerala in 2018.

According to the police investigation, he had a depression problem and he was visiting the doctor for the last six months and taking medicine,  which he had stopped to take for the last month. Which might be the reason for such a devastating step taken by him.

What is depression and how it can lead a person to suicide?

Depression is a mental health disorder that can further be classified in mood disorder. Depression is also an illness similar to cancer, diabetes, or flu which may happen because of coronavirus. And depression must be treated similarly to treatment done for other diseases.

Depression is a very common illness in which sadness and a loss of interest in an activity that one normally enjoys for at least two weeks. The patient may have a sleeping problem, anxiety, reduce concentration not able to take decision may have guilt or hopelessness which can lead thoughts of self-harm or suicide.

In India, the National Mental Health Survey 2015-16 reveals that nearly 15% of Indian adults need consultation for mental health issues and one in 20 Indians (5% of the total population which recent study suggest increased up to 6.5 % which around 9 crore people who suffer from depression which is around the total population of Germany). It is estimated that in 2012, India had over 258,000 suicides, with the age-group of 15-49 years being most affected. On average in India, around 1.35 Lakhs of people do suicide every year. The main reason for suicide in India is mental health still consider taboo and people do not go to doctors for treatment and also they never want to talk with friends about their mental status.

How does depression happen?

Depression can be happened because of a combination of biological, psychological, and social sources of distress. (Study suggest these factors may cause changes in brain function, including behavioral changes of certain neural circuits in the brain)

Common causes include Family history, medical condition, personal history of mental illness, stressful events, such as loss of loved one, economic problems, or divorce. India is the second most populated country with limited resources and opportunities, every citizen has tough competition in each field which also creates an environment with nepotism, politics, favoritism, corruption, and group culture, which leads to unprofessional, unethical activity, and victims manly affected with depression. (Which most common reason in India for depression actually)

What were the main causes of Sushant's depression despite the fact that he was very successful in his field and doing well financially too? Why are people blaming Bollywood for that?

People on various social media claiming that nepotism and group mentality of Bollywood cause depression to him and which eventually lead him to do suicide. Nepotism (where people prefer their children, relative, family members, and friends first for any opportunity though they may be a not best available option) not only present in Bollywood but across India and in all possible fields. In fact, India has been lead by only one family since independence for most of the time, despite we are a democratic country,  and leader elected by the people of India. Google's next CEO will not  Sundar Pichaes's son (similarly Microsoft not select Bill gates' son as next CEO even many people do not know who is his son) but we can expect that Mukesh Ambani's son will be next CEO of Reliance Industry. Similarly in the Bollywood industry's people gives first priority to their children compared to outsiders. How can we expect that Karan Johar producing the film (with taking risk of its failure) and he will give priority to the outsider, and not to the people whom he knows or to the people, who are his friends. I mean it is his film and he can choose to whom he wants to give a job and no one can force him to change his decision. Even when the question asked to Sushant about nepotism, he said that nepotism could exist together but the problem starts when people deliberately block new talent who come in the industry.  (Though Mahabharat tells us that "Putra moh" (affection and love for our loved ones) can cause destruction for ourselves.)

So the problem is not nepotism or favoritism because it exists everywhere and who is today outsider in Bollywood when they become insider they will also do the same thing. But the problem is a group or gang mentality which do politics, bullying and put particular people down in front of everyone. They try to block every source and make his life miserable and give immense stress.

What problems were facing by Sushant?

If we see the Sushant case, it clearly visible. Sushant has done some great work in Dhoni's biopic,  in "chichore", "sonchiriya" and in his first movie "kai po che" but people will surprise that he never won any IIFA award. (which still considered as one of the prestigious awards in the Film industry but should not be) but if you compare with other actors or actress who has relatives in industries wons many awards( though they even do not know acting)( but here also you can not blame only them as people also like to watch commercial films compare to a film which technically best demonstration of different skills like acting). So the film industry has corruption when it comes to appreciating and they block outsiders to be recognized.

Also, some shows running from decades by a group of people whose intention is to mock the people. Recently many videos come out of one show which shows that a particular group of people deliberately did to down Sushant on national television and laughed disrespectfully like he was nothing. It gives stress as he knows that this thing will be shown by his relatives too who matter to him.

Sushant's many social media post asked people to watch his movies as he did not have any godfather(a person who help to remain in industries and, protect from others and for that you have to remain in his gang) and if people would not watch they kick him out from Bollywood. This shows that he was insecure about getting films and as per many sources, many production houses banned him as he denied to do their film and instead of selected film "pani" which was also eventually ended without releasing. Sushant had signed 7 films after "chichore" film's success but 6 films were gone and no one knows the reason. but everyone knows because of which lobby or gang who was continuously running their propaganda against him. That group of people did not invite him to their social gatherings and never consider him a Bollywood a family member which made him alone and definitely given lots of stress.

In fact, there is a video where people from Bollywood commenting about the mental health status on national television which should not be. Just imagine how he felt when he has shown that interview. In many interviews, he has admitted that he does not have more friends in Bollywood and people do not receive his calls.

So this group or gang mentality which also present in most of the field in India from the government to corporate and from the TV industry to Bollywood which uses nepotism and favoritism and destroys other people's life should consider as criminal activity similarly Harassment and must be banned by law. (Depression is mental health illness like other illnesses but who cause this illness? not a virus but the human and they should be identified and punished like a virus)In Bollywood, everyone knows who is part of that gang and how they block real talent and promote their favorite people. But no one wants to stand up against them because one is "Bhai" who do charity and other is "bhia kum bahen jyada"(not to offend anyone, but it is facts) is the godfather for many actors and actress in Bollywood. But who cares why should we bother about everything and boycott someone or something for a good cause. We will just enjoy the films.

Sushant was a real gem in fact he had a good understanding of space, quantum physics and had an interest in current technology like artificial intelligence. He had visited the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, which is a European research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. (Just search about his 50 dreams which shared by him on Instagram and get more detail how he was involved with science in his daily life). He was talented and intelligent so definitely, Bollywood doesn't deserve him. Every and each Indian felt as a personal loss and why not. It was not suicide but murder by a corrupt system of Bollywood. It is worthy to see one dialogue of 3 idiots which perfect for his condition.

Rest in peace Sushant.🙏
